Hiroshima
Hiroshima is located in the western part of Japan, and worth visiting once in your lifetime because it’s one of the places where A-bomb was dropped on the ground for the first time in the world. To our sadness, about 140,000 people were killed by the direct heat, shock, blast and radiation then, the number of victims have still been increasing due to its aftermath. There’s a memorial park where the Atomic Bomb Dome stands as it is, which makes us imagine how awful it was. Also, the statue of a girl called Sadako and so many offerings of 1000 paper cranes give us a chance to think of world peace.
Since Hiroshima faces Inland Sea, it’s famous for oyster farming and cultivation of lemons taking advantage of mild weather & calm nutritious waves. Travel to Miyajima Island which is one of 3 most scenic beauties in Japan would be must while your staying there. There is the dignified shrine called Itsukushima Shrine that looks like floating in the sea at high tide. It’s dedicated to 3 beautiful goddesses of the sea. Magical.
