Summer is coming soon !

On this day, Shinto ritual is supposed to be held to pray for maritime prosperity and safety everywhere. Shinto is the indigenous religion in Japan, related to shrines, and we have a variety of ceremonial events according to the seasons. It’s an important annual event that the priest travels to the beach to give prayers to the goddess of the sea before midsummer.

This summer, however, it seems to be different from usual. Local governments decided to close most of beaches due to the fear of COVID-19. It’s a shame… but let’s enjoy the summer while walking or sailing the beaches !
